This Privacy Policy describes how Grillguessr ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Grillguessr is designed to require as little personal information as possible. We collect:
The App does not request your phone number, precise location, personal photos, or contacts. If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you send.
The Android app uses Unity LevelPlay to obtain advertisements from Meta Audience Network and ironSource Ads. These services use advertising data to select and measure advertisements and prevent fraud. IP addresses can indicate your approximate location.
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to collect privacy choices where required. When GDPR applies, the app requests ads only after consent for device storage and both advertising partners. You can change your choices through Settings > Privacy options when this option is available. The app also sends sale/sharing restriction signals to LevelPlay and requests Meta Limited Data Use where supported. These settings do not prevent all advertising data collection.
You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings. Google's consent service follows the Google Privacy Policy. This updated Android version does not request AdMob advertisements. Older installed versions can still use Google AdMob, which processes advertising identifiers, device information, and ad interactions.
We rely on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the third-party service providers listed above, solely to operate the App and serve advertisements.
Uninstalling the App does not delete your account or server data. You can request deletion in two ways.
In the App. Where the Battle feature is available, open Battle > Your account and tap Delete my account (or Delete this guest account if you never linked an email). Deletion happens immediately.
Without the App. Email joaovnapolitano@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Grillguessr account". Send it from the email address linked to your account. We delete the account within 30 days and confirm by reply. Guest accounts have no email address, so we can only locate them if you include your player identifier.
What we delete: your login, profile and display name, weekly ranking entries, and saved game scores and daily-challenge results. Your name in past matches is replaced with "Deleted player".
What we keep, and for how long:
Advertising partners hold data under their own policies (Section 4). You can reset your advertising ID in your device settings.
Grillguessr is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
